Larks Leas Rest Home was recently filled with excitement as our residents gathered in the lounge, eagerly anticipating a visit from the wonderful Emily of ZooLab. As Emily arrived with her large bag of surprises, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation and curiosity.

Emily, a lovely young lady who educates others about unusual creatures, introduced our residents to the fascinating array of creatures she had brought along. With a smile on her face, Emily unveiled a Giant African Land Snail, a Stick Insect named Twiggy, a Giant Millipede, a Tarantula Spider called Chloe, and lastly, a Python Snake.

The lounge quickly transformed into a hub of activity and wonder as our brave residents chose to not only observe but also hold and stroke these captivating creatures. The residents’ bravery even surpassed that of our staff members, who watched in awe as our residents interacted with these unique animals.

As the visit unfolded, our residents were given the opportunity to ask Emily questions about the creatures, their habits, and their natural habitats. Emily’s wealth of knowledge and passion for the animal kingdom captivated our residents, sparking engaging conversations and further deepening their understanding of these extraordinary creatures.

The morning spent with ZooLab at Larks Leas Rest Home proved to be an incredibly enjoyable and educational experience for all involved. Our residents were enthralled by the opportunity to interact with creatures they may not have encountered otherwise. This hands-on encounter fostered a sense of connection and curiosity among our residents, igniting their interest in the wonders of the natural world.
