Larks Leas Rest Home Celebrates a Week of Harvest Festivities

Larks Leas Rest Home, Dorset
At Larks Leas Rest Home, October was a month filled with joyous celebrations as our residents came together to embrace the spirit of Harvest. We dedicated an entire week to engage in various activities and events, fostering a sense of community and creativity among our residents.

The week commenced with an explosion of artistic expression as our residents showcased their talent by creating marvellous artwork to adorn our home. Their creativity adorned the hallways and common areas, filling our space with vibrant colours and heartwarming scenes reminiscent of the harvest season.

To further immerse ourselves in the essence of Harvest, we delved into the power of words with poetry readings and storytelling. Our residents composed their own Harvest-themed mystery story, unlocking their imagination and captivating the entire community with their narrative skills.

The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the enchanting Harvest Festival Service. We were honoured to welcome Alan, a talented lay preacher, and his wife Gill, who brought their guitars and harmonious voices to fill the room with melodic tunes. Accompanied by Ellie, our activities coordinator and her enchanting violin, we united our voices in hymns of gratitude and celebration.

The Harvest Festival Service served as a beautiful opportunity for our residents to reflect on the abundance of nature’s bounties and express their appreciation for the gifts of the harvest season. The sight of smiling faces and heartfelt participation truly highlighted the sense of togetherness and gratitude that permeates through our community.

As we bid farewell to the Harvest festivities, we take pride in the memories created, the bonds strengthened, and the joy shared. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to making this week a resounding success. The spirit of Harvest will continue to inspire us as we move forward, creating cherished moments and nurturing a vibrant sense of community within Larks Leas Rest Home.
