Springtime Fun at Larks Leas

Springtime Fun at Larks Leas
Spring has well and truly sprung at Larks Leas Rest Home, so we’ve put together a round-up of highlights from the past few weeks.

The arrival of March brought joy and excitement to our residents. We kicked off the month with St. David’s Day celebrations, complete with Welsh songs, poetry, dragons and flags. As well as a couple of birthdays to celebrate, we also saw in Mothering Sunday by treating our resident mothers to flowers and poems.

We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with Irish coffees and Guinness, followed by entertainment from singer Mike Sidaway. The residential care home was decorated with flowers to mark the official start of spring, some of which were arranged by our lovely residents.
Other events included an Easter Hymn service and Easter Saturday party featuring a raffle and Grand Easter Bingo.

Our care home residents have also been kept busy with quizzes, morning tai chi and reminiscence. As the warmer weather approaches, we are looking forward to some more outings and enjoying the sunshine in the garden.

We believe a retirement home should be:

  • Where each person is an individual
  • Where there are no unnecessary rules and regulations
  • Where dignity, peace and comfort take priority
  • Where companionship, interest and activity flourishes.
  • And where people are supported to lead the fullest possible lives
