To commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s 95th birthday Larks Leas Rest Home, elderly care home in Blandford, decided to celebrate by pitting the residents against each other in a Royal Quiz. Two teams, the Windsors and the Buckinghams, went head to head for the chance to become quiz champions – and what a competitive battle of the minds it turned out to be!

A wide range of questions and quiz rounds were prepared to challenge each team however, they rose to the challenge very impressively! There was almost nothing between them and the quiz was on level pegging going into the final question. The stakes were high and you could cut the tension with a knife. However, it was the Buckinghams who handled the pressure the best and managed to seal victory right at the death, to officially become Larks Leas Care Home’s “Royal Champions!” Grace and decorum went straight out of the window as the victory was celebrated with cheers and flag waving aplenty!

This was something a little different to the activities our residents usually partake in however, it went down well and everybody had such a fantastic time. We look forward to the friendly competition returning with future quiz events like this.
