Larks Leas Rest Home Christmas Festivities

The lead up to Christmas at our elderly care home in Blandford, Larks Leas Rest Home, saw the annual Christmas staff meeting. The atmosphere is typically more jubilant than other staff meetings, most likely to do with the lovely spread of party food and the copious amounts of chocolate available! The team were given wine, sweet treats, gift vouchers and other goodies as a way to thank them for their efforts during what has been a year filled with challenging circumstances. Alongside this there was also a Christmas prize draw with one lucky staff member winning £250 and 5 additional winners each taking home a £50 voucher.

Larks Leas Christmas Staff Meeting Treats and Gifts for Staff

A few days later the residents were paid a visit by Andy, accordionist extraordinaire, who utilised the secure visitor pod in order to provide some entertainment in a safe manner. Plenty of Christmas songs were on the setlist and everybody enjoyed a truly festive singalong. This included one resident singing her favourite Christmas song in her native Czech as well as a group rendition of the brand new, soon to be a smash hit “The Larks Leas 12 Days of Christmas!” We’ve included the lyrics so you can memorise them ahead of next Christmas!

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me
A nice, hot cup of tea
On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Two pairs of dentures
On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Three hearing aids
On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Four visits in the pod
On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Five zimmer frames
On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Six cleaners cleaning
On the seventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Seven carers caring
On the eight day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Eight alarms a calling
On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Nine Christmas puddings
On the tenth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Ten plastic pinnies
On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Eleven pills a popping
On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Twelve residents all smiling
