There has been a lot happening at Larks Leas Rest Home, elderly care home in Blandford, recently. Our brand new ‘Visitors Pod’ has been installed, thanks to some hard work courtesy of our amazing maintenance manager Jim. Designed to allow residents the opportunity to welcome visitors in a safe manner that adheres to government guidelines, it has already proven a huge hit. Separated by a window and with an audio system in place so they can communicate as normal, the Visitors Pod lets family and friends meet with residents face to face. It is definitely a much-needed addition as we move into winter as it allows a nice visiting area away from the inclement weather. During a year in which almost everything has been a little bit different compared to usual it’s nice to be able to provide a little normality in the way of visitors for our residents.
There was also the matter of celebrating the spookiest day of the year. The home was filled with plenty of Halloween related decor and an abundance of scary spiders, ghastly ghosts and petrifying pumpkins certainly helped to get everybody at Larks Leas Rest Home well and truly into the spirit. The incredible team here also created an amazing trick or treat stand, giving the residents the perfect excuse to indulge in some sweet treats. Not wanting to see our lovely staff miss out on the Halloween festivities they were each gifted a lovely box of chocolates as recognition for the amazing efforts they put into ensuring our residents had a fabulous Halloween.
