We believe a home should be:

  • Where each person is an individual
  • Where there are no unnecessary rules and regulations
  • Where dignity, peace and comfort take priority
  • Where companionship, interest and activity flourishes.
  • And where people are supported to lead the fullest possible lives

Pancake Day at Larks Leas

On Tuesday 5th March we celebrated the tradition of Pancake Day at Larks Leas Rest Home in Blandford!  Many countries still join us in consuming pancakes for Shrove Tuesday, which is a traditional Christian feast that takes place the day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday.

Our chef’s and care home staff have come up with a slightly unconventional way of cooking them with our George Foreman grill so that everyone can take part in the fun.
After enjoying our delicious pancakes, we had a week of activities lined up including our regular visit from Polly and flower arranging.  Follow us on Facebook to see photos of our latest activities.

In the lead up to Easter we will be spending more time outside in our care home garden and our residents will be venturing out more as the warmer weather arrives in Dorset.
