  • Where each person is an individual
  • Where there are no unnecessary rules and regulations

Accommodation and Vacancies

Larks Leas Rest Home is a traditional family style detached home located on the north side of Blandford town in Dorset. The original house was extended twice on either side to provide a total of 14 room places, and then in early 2005 a further 8 rooms were effectively added when the new Garden Suite was completed.

Accommodation is single occupancy, almost all of which are en-suite, with some rooms having their own showers/baths. The home has social areas, lounges and a dining area for the residents to use whenever they please.

All meals are freshly prepared to have that home cooked taste, with the use of fresh produce whenever we can. The chef provides a regularly varied menu along with catering for special diets (diabetic, low fat etc). The home also has excellent relations with local GP surgeries and hospitals who provide full support.
Our respite care and long term care home vacancies will vary from time to time, please contact us to discuss our availability and what we can do to help.

Respite Care

Respite Care (or short term care) can often be provided at Larks Leas Care Home in Blandford, Dorset. If we have any availability, we are only too happy to offer Respite Care to local residents in need of some recuperation and aid their recovery after an illness or hospital stay. We also provide respite care for short periods to give carers a break from looking after an elderly relative at home. Having been awarded the top ‘Beacon Status’ by the Gold Standards Framework, you can rest assured they’ll be getting top quality care whilst staying with us.

Residents are allowed, wherever possible, to live their lives as independently as possible. They are encouraged to remain active as long as possible and participate in as many activities as they are able to manage, subject to their own limitations.
We welcome both long and short stay residents, including respite care, whether privately funded or assisted by Social Services. Any special dietary requirement is catered for.
The Home helps clients to lead their individual lifestyles whenever possible by encouraging existing and new interests and providing varied activities for those interested. Friends and family are welcomed at any time to spend time with their relative/s.
